A Clarkston High School graduate, Dan Fife returned to his alma mater to coach, and spent 36 seasons as the head boys basketball coach, amassing 703 wins — third-most in state history — 29 league titles, 30 district titles, 13 regionals and two state titles before his retirement in 2018. That next winter, the school renamed its field house after its former player, coach and athletic director.
