The Sylvan Lake Lion’s Club’s annual golf tournament is coming up on Friday, July 5.
This year, the proceeds from the golf tournament will be split between the Advanced Ambulatory Care Service and the Seniors Independent Affordable Housing Project.
For the Lion’s Club the golf tournament is their biggest fundraiser, president Jonathan Whaley said.
“It’s our only major fundraiser project we have going on. We feel it allows everyone to enjoy a day out, fundraising for a noble cause and to make a difference in our community.”
Registration for the tournament opened on May 15.
Currently, with the Early Bird Discount until June 15 the price to sign up is $180 per golfer and after the discount ends the price will be $190 per golfer.
People who are interested, though, should sign up quickly as there are limited spots for players.
“The maximum number of players that can participate is 120,” Whaley said.
There are many ways that community members can help to support the Lion’s Club besides golfing as well.
“Come out to a meeting and visit, buy a burger or hot dog at our concession trailer if you see us, if you see us at the 1913 Days Parade say hi, and have a look at our Facebook page for current and future projects,” Whaley said.
Similar to last year, the event will feature a Hawaiian theme.
More information and details on how to register can be found on the Sylvan Lake and District Lions Club’s Facebook page.
