Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes 2024 odds: Betting favorites, complete horse list & how to watch race | Sporting News

Saturday marks a special day in horse racing: the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot. Reigning champion Khaadem of Ireland will be competing with 13 other sprinters, looking to defend his title after pulling off the 80-1 upset last year.

Sporting News has everything you need to know about this famed historic event, including the Bet365 betting odds, a complete horse list, and information on how to watch.

An annual Group 1 event honoring the late great Queen Elizabeth II, this prestigious race takes place at Ascot Race Course in Great Britain and features some of the fastest colts in the world aged four years and older (three and older if hailing from the Southern Hemisphere).

The six-furlong sprint dates back to 1868, originally called the All-Aged Stakes. It was renamed the Cork and Orrery Stakes in 1926, and then again to its current name to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2002.

Let’s get right to the full details for the 2024 Queen Elizabeth II at Ascot Race Course in Great Britain. Good luck, have fun, and enjoy the Royal Ascot!

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes 2024: Defending champion

Khaadem (20-1)

Although facing much shorter odds than his 80-1 last year, reigning champion Khaadem once again finds himself near the bottom of the betting board at 20-1.

At eight years old with no other wins since last year’s event (and just one other victory since July 2022), a bet on Khaadem seems risky despite his narrow come-from-behind win in 2023.

Sportsbooks appear to view the Irish colt’s upset as a bit of a fluke, but likely aren’t fully committed to making him a true long shot for fear of taking on too much liability on the off-chance he strikes gold a second straight year.

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes 2024: Favorites

Kinross (9-2)

Kinross has plenty of wins under his belt and therefore serves as one of Saturday’s most popular bets at the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee. At seven years old, he’s an experienced sprinter with spectacular ability to blast through openings and never look back.

Mill Stream (9-2)

Mill Stream just seems to keep improving as a sprinter, rounding into form as a four-year-old. This stunning colt’s recent win at the Duke of York Clipper Stakes and narrow second (by 3/4 of a length) to Washington Heights at the Abernant Stakes suggest he’s ready for international glory this weekend.

Shartash (6-1)

Shartash has gone undefeated since Archie Watson took over as trainer this year, with wins at Haydock Park and Thirsk. While not experienced in large-field events like this weekend’s Jubilee, he has tremendous speed figures and impressive stamina.

Mitbaahy (6-1)

Similar to Shartash, Mitbaahy has just three starts for trainer Charlie Hills, but the five-year-old colt is coming off a big victory at Curragh on May 25. With six career wins and the trainer who led Khaadem to stunning victory last year, Mitbaahy and his backers will have plenty of confidence this weekend.
