Promised jobs, many cheated of ₹43 lakh – Times of India

Nagpur: An office set up under the name of Soundarya Institute and Financial Services in Baba Taj building on VIP Road, Dharampeth, has been exposed for deceiving several youths to the tune of Rs 43 lakh by promising them lucrative jobs. The Sitabuldi police have registered a case of fraud against five individuals, including the director.The accused have been identified as Rajeev Reddy, Mirza Baig, Suraj Ghorpade, his wife Sonali, and Shailesh Kolhe. The case was filed based on a complaint by Pinkesh Borkar, a 32-year-old MR with Corona Remedies, a Gujarat-based company.Pinkesh and his wife moved to their Ajni residence in 2018, and after two months, Suraj and his wife Sonali also moved in as their neighbours. Pinkesh and Suraj quickly became friends. In October 2010, Suraj showed Pinkesh an appointment letter claiming he had secured a job in a government organization. Suraj then promised to secure a similar job for Pinkesh.In November, Suraj took Pinkesh to the office of Soundarya Institute and Financial Services Company where they met Reddy who claimed his father held a high position in a government firm and assured Pinkesh that a job could be secured for Rs 4 lakh. Suraj took guarantee for the job, further convincing Pinkesh.Despite these payments, Pinkesh did not receive the promised job.The fraudulent activities extended beyond Pinkesh, with Reddy and his accomplices cheating several others amounting to a total fraud of Rs 43.50 lakh.
