Popular TNA Wrestling Star Appearing On WWE NXT Update – WrestleTalk

WWE/TNA

Ahead of this week’s show, a new report has revealed an update on popular TNA Wrestling star Joe Hendry appearing on WWE NXT.

On the June 18 edition of WWE NXT, a battle royal is set to take place on the broadcast to determine the new number one contender for Trick Williams’ NXT Championship at Heatwave.

In the announcement of the match on the June 11 episode, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes teased that “multiple locker rooms” would be featured in the battle royal.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that TNA talent were expected to be involved with Joe Hendry being brought up and asked about by fans.

Hendry has been teased on WWE commentary on both NXT and Monday Night Raw in recent weeks. A recent report indicated that these lines were planned out and not improvisation.

The report notes that Hendry is one name that has been discussed as being included in the battle royal.

Hendry’s entry into the bout has not been confirmed at this time of the writing, but the TNA Wrestling star was seen in Los Angeles on Monday, June 17.

The report also notes that Joe Hendry has long had admirers on the NXT brand, particularly for his comedic ability and charisma.

One WWE talent stated that they would be “shocked” if Hendry was not planned for a WWE appearance at some point and noted that it would be a “lapse in judgment” if he were not a part of the NXT-TNA crossover.

The belief among talent is that the crossover between the two promotions is “far from over” at this time.

WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on the WWE NXT and TNA crossover when they become available.
