The Yukon public is being asked to steer clear of the Pine Lake campground near Haines Junction following a “bear incident” that left someone injured.
According to a Facebook post from the Yukon Conservation Officer Service, the campground and nearby trails are closed as COs and Yukon Parks staff respond
It also states that the person involved in the incident is receiving medical attention.
“Conservation officers have located and removed the bears matching the description of those involved in the incident from the area and are continuing their response to ensure public safety at this time.”
People are being asked to avoid the area.
