Three more Georgia basketball nonconference opponents for the coming season are set.

That includes two in what is being called the Peach State Classic, a multi-team event (MTE) in November hosted by Georgia and Georgia Tech.

Georgia will play home games against Texas Southern and North Florida in the MTE, according to a contract obtained from Texas Southern via an open records request.

The Georgia-Texas Southern game is Sunday Nov. 10 with the SWAC school receiving a $90,000 guarantee. No date is listed for the North Florida game at Georgia, but CBSSports’ Jon Rothstein reported it is on Nov. 12, the same day Texas Southern is playing at Georgia Tech.

Texas Southern went 16-17 last season and tied for third in the SWAC. Its only other game against Georgia was a 17-point loss in December 2018.

North Florida is coming off a 16-16 season and fifth place finish in the Atlantic Sun. It lost at Georgia 78-60 on Dec. 22.

The NCAA allows teams to play 29 games and one multi-team event if it doesn’t exceed more than two games per team.

Another Georgia nonconference game against Charleston Southern will be played on Sunday Dec. 22 in Stegeman Coliseum, according to a contract signed by the schools in January that was obtained from Georgia through an open records request. That guarantee is $85,000.

Georgia has won all four previous meetings with Charleston Southern including the last, 84-64 on Dec. 17, 2016. Charleston Southern went 10-20 last season including 6-10 in the Big South.

Georgia’s other known nonconference games are against Marquette on Nov. 23 and St. John’s on Nov. 24 in the Bahamas and home games against Notre Dame on Dec. 3 and South Carolina State on Dec. 29. The date for the Bulldogs’ game at rival Georgia Tech has not been announced.

Coach Mike White’s third Georgia team is coming off a trip to the NIT semifinals and finished with a 20-17 record.

The Bulldogs return guards Silas Demary and Blue Cain and forward Dylan James and have added nine newcomers—five transfers and four high school signees.
