KARACHI:
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provided an update on the injuries of five cricketers under the care of its Medical Panel, which includes Professor Rana Dilawaiz Nadeem, Dr Mumraiz Naqshband, and Professor Javed Akram.
Fast bowler Arshad Iqbal will receive treatment at ASPETAR in Qatar, a renowned hospital specialising in orthopaedic and sports medicine. His appointment and travel arrangements will be finalised after the Eid ul Adha holidays.
Ihsanullah, another right-arm fast bowler, is currently rehabilitating from a right elbow injury. He started his recovery process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will continue his rehabilitation in Swat, his hometown, under the supervision of a physiotherapist approved by the PCB medical panel.
Fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Junior, who sustained a back injury during a domestic tournament, is also undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA. He plans to resume his recovery programme after the Eid holidays.
Zeeshan Zameer, a right-arm fast bowler dealing with an ankle injury, is set to undergo surgery in Qatar next week. ASPETAR recommended surgery after reviewing his medical reports earlier this month. Following the surgery, Zeeshan may stay in Qatar for his rehabilitation.
