Patriots sign undrafted wide receiver David Wallis

The open roster spot has been filled in Foxborough.

The New England Patriots signed undrafted wide receiver David Wallis on Monday, as first reported by Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2.

The product of Division III Randolph-Macon College attended rookie minicamp on a tryout basis in May. He now returns to Gillette Stadium as the third week of organized team activities gets underway.

Wallis, listed at 5-foot-11, 183 pounds, caught 53 passes last fall for the 13-1 Yellow Jackets of Ashland, Va. The fifth-year senior did so on the way to leading the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with 957 receiving yards and finishing second with 12 touchdowns.

A College Gridiron Showcase alum, Wallis was clocked running the 40-yard dash in a reported 4.40 seconds during the pre-draft process.

Previously leading the ODAC with 1,189 yards and 13 touchdowns out wide in 2022, Wallis’ 34 receiving scores stand as a school record. He averaged 21.5 yards per catch during his career.

Across 42 games, the tenure also included 18 carries for 127 yards to go with 22 kickoff returns for 442 yards.

Offensive tackle Andrew Stueber, a former seventh-round draft choice out of Michigan, was waived by the Patriots in a corresponding move. The organization carries a 91-man roster into June with defensive end Jotham Russell arriving as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program.
