Participants highlight green growth, digitalization at int’l infrastructure forum in Macao
MACAO, June 21 (Xinhua) — The 15th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) on Thursday took place in Macao, focusing on “Green Innovative Digital Connectivity.”
According to organizers, over 3,500 industry representatives from more than 70 countries and regions attended the forum.
Guo Tingting, China’s vice minister of commerce, said in her opening address that the Ministry of Commerce of China is willing to actively carry out policy dialogues and mechanism docking for green infrastructure cooperation and to continue to deepen practical cooperation in the fields of green infrastructure, green energy, green transportation, and green finance.
The exhibition area of this year’s forum has been expanded by 60 percent compared to the previous edition, showcasing representative projects of global infrastructure connectivity.
Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov highlighted the forum’s unique collaborative nature, bringing together policymakers, companies, the private sector, and the government to discuss new opportunities for economic development.
“A lot of Chinese companies have good experience in projecting and constructing green power stations, and we also focused on developing joint projects with Chinese companies in Uzbekistan in the field of green energy,” he said in an interview.
Wang Bin, president of the Power Construction Corporation of China, told Xinhua that realizing green innovation and digitalization of the industry has become a topic of the times. “It requires cooperation to make breakthroughs,” he said.
The forum, co-organized by the China International Contractors Association and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, will run through Friday.■
