The paramedicine community is mourning the loss of one of their own—a man who died saving the life of a young swimmer over the weekend.
The Paramedic Association of Newfoundland and Labrador has shared a statement on social media on behalf of the family of 30-year-old Devin George.
They say George died on Saturday, saving the life of a young boy at a swimming hole in New Harbour, Trinity Bay, with the statement reading that the man will “always be a hero in [their] eyes.”
George became a paramedic in 2014, serving in his home province of Newfoundland and Labrador and across the country.
Visitation is taking place at Warren’s Funeral Home in Dildo on Thursday, with a private ceremony being held later for immediate family and close friends.
