NEW DELHI: After their terrible T20 World Cup campaign, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam and five other players – Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan – have chosen to spend their holidays in London before going back home.
T20 WORLD CUP: SCHEDULE | POINTS TABLEAccording to a report in The Express Tribune, along with the rest of the team, the six players will not be arriving in Pakistan on Tuesday. The players listed above intend to visit London to spend time with friends and family. Additionally, some are considering participating in UK local leagues.

Assistant coach Azhar Mahmood and head coach Gary Kirsten will go for their respective homes in the meantime. The report further stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed the coaching staff to return to their home countries as they have no upcoming engagements.

Pakistan’s dreadful performance in Group A of the T20 World Cup came to an end on Sunday as they defeated Ireland by a slim margin of three wickets in their final match.

Before overcoming Canada by seven wickets, they were defeated by archrivals India and the co-hosts, the United States.

Pakistan finished third in their group and missed a Super Eight slot, with India and the USA securing their spots after finishing first and second, despite having four points in as many games.

The two-match home Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled for August. In October, England are scheduled to tour Pakistan.
