Employment Area/Corporate Centre  Upwards Shifts in Employment (%) Key Difference in Employment Numbers (2013 – 2023)

However, despite upward trends in some sectors, the city was not shy to report that there has been a steady decline in other major business environments over the last decade.

According to the data provided by the city, Sheridan CN, Lakeview Waterfront MN, DT Hospital, Sheridan Park CC, and South Common CN, saw a decline in employment by 36%, 19%, 3%, 3%, and 9% respectively between 2013 and 2023 respectively.

Additional information provided by the city also indicated that while certain areas like the Health Care sector are seeing a rise in employment numbers, the Transportation, Retail, Accommodation, and Management sectors have seen a substantial decrease over the last 10 years.
