One-stop shopping for employers looking to hire francophone immigrants – My Kap-Hearst Now

Drop-in events in three communities next week offer employers information on hiring francophone-bilingual workers.

Marie-Josée Tremblay is social economic development agent for Northeastern Ontario.

She says the events offer information regarding programs and services in the immigration pathway.

“We’re going to have a representative of IRCC; a representative of Ontario Immigration Nominee Program; employability consultant from Société de l’Ontario; the settlement services; Northern Ontario Francophone Immigration Support Network; and Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program,” Tremblay outlines.

She says it’s primarily for hiring newcomers who are francophone.

“So it’s francophone bilingual, just to be a little bit specific,” she elaborates. “We do not want to turn down anybody, we do have different partners that is not only francophone, but also bilingual services.”

You can drop in to the big conference room at the Companion Hotel in Hearst from 11:30am to 1:30pm on Monday; the Hub community centre in Val-Rita Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 am; or the Kap Welcome Centre, that same day between 11:30am and 1:30pm.
