Oilers’ Nugent-Hopkins absent from practice, good to go for Game 7 – Sportsnet.ca

Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was not at the rink on Sunday to skate with his teammates but will be good to go for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

According to head coach Kris Knoblauch, Nugent-Hopkins’ absence was the result of a “maintenance day.”

The 31-year-old from Burnaby, B.C., is tied for fourth in team scoring this post-season, with seven goals and 22 points through 24 playoff games.

His lineup spot at practice was filled by teammate Evander Kane.

Kane has missed the last four straight games due to a sports hernia. The 32-year-old forward has recorded four goals and eight points over 20 games this post-season.

Per Knoblauch, Kane will be available to potentially slot in for the final.

The Oilers will face the Panthers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night in Sunrise, Fla. Catch the game on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 8 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. MT.
