The CMF Phone 1 by Nothing launched yesterday, and it’s got a removable back. The brand offers a few swappable back covers, but what if you could create your own? The possibilities are endless.

Well, now you can. Nothing has released some documentation allowing you to 3D print your own back covers for the CMF Phone 1, and you can find everything at the Source below.

Some enterprising souls have already given it a try, with decent first-time results. The Nothing team also detailed the screws it’s using for holding the back case in place, so if you are into making 3D things, now’s your time to shine.

The company is kindly asking the members of its forums to share their creations, since the team could actually end up picking a few and mass-producing them.

This all started with a post on X, where someone suggested a trading card holder case for the CMF Phone 1. Nothing founder and CEO Carl Pei stepped in and just a few hours later, the documentation was made public. That’s one of the advantages of being a startup – there were no layers upon layers of middle managers that had to have endless meetings in order to decide upon approving a move like this.
