Northview fires girls basketball coach Danny Silva, who led team to CIF and regional titles in 2019

Northview girls basketball Danny Silva, who in 2019 led the Vikings to CIF Southern Section and regional titles, was fired Friday, according to sources.

Silva was the CIF-SS Division 4 and San Gabriel Valley coach of the year in 2019.

Silva was not available for comment Friday.

Silva took over the program in the 2016-17 season and became one of the most successful coaches in the San Gabriel Valley.

After going 11-15 in his first season, the Vikings had winning seasons every year and won three Valle Vista League championships.

The Vikings were 18-10 this past season, finishing second in the Valle Vista League.
