The Loblaw-owned discount grocer said multi-buy promotions have been removed at all stores effective immediately in a move geared toward “greater affordability” for customers who are financially unable to make bulk purchases.

“We pride ourselves on always keeping our customers’ needs at heart, and listening to their feedback,” No Frills president Melanie Singh said in a news release Wednesday. “Our customers told us loud and clear that they don’t want to have to buy more to save.”

Gone are the “buy two for $5 or one for $2.99” pricing options, No Frills said. Instead, the grocer will have new lower prices on individual items across the country.
