Wichita State men’s golf team finished third in the AAC Championship, the program’s best in six tournaments as a conference member.

Michael Winslow shot a 3-under-par 207 to tie for fourth. He is the second Shocker to finish in the top five.

Winslow climbed 15 spots with his final-round 66 and the Shockers move up from fourth to third.

“For him to shoot 66 in the final round and kind of carry us to third-place finish was just phenomenal,” coach Judd Easterling said. “He made birdie on (No.) 18, probably one of the best four-irons I’ve ever seen the kid hit. Capped off a great weekend for him.”

WSU carded a 2-over-par 842 to finish five shots ahead of Memphis at Pelican Golf Course in Belleair, Fla. USF won the title with a 12-under-par 828. Seniors Blake Lorenz and Zach Sokolosky also finished in the top 15.

“It all came together,” Easterling said. “We struggled with putting 54-hole tournaments together this spring. It was nice to see that finally come together and for us to play a really good 54-hole event.”
