Newsboy’s nap and racing tips for Sunday’s three meetings including Hamilton
Newsboy’s nap selection for Sunday, June 2, is the Andrew Balding-trained Warda Jamila (5.40) at Hamilton. His next best is another runner at the Scottish track, American Affair (5.10)
WARDA JAMILA (5.40, nap) is fancied to take her record in the sphere to 2-2 by landing the Sky Bet Request A Bet Fillies’ Handicap at Hamilton Park on Sunday.
Andrew Balding’s daughter of Calyx proved comfortably better than an opening mark of 80 at Ascot last month, scoring by a cosy two and a half lengths.
And even an 8lb rise in the weights may not be enough to prevent the follow-up in front of the ITV4 cameras.
Half-an-hour earlier at the Scottish track, AMERICAN AFFAIR (5.10, nb) could be the one to follow in the Sky Bet Build A Bet Handicap.
The Jim Goldie-trained four year old returned six weeks ago with an impressive display, turning a Musselburgh handicap into a rout, and a 10lb rise probably underestimates his superiority.
There is more to come from this sprinter, and he can score again up in class.
