Newsboy’s nap and racing tips for four Sunday meetings including Wolverhampton
Newsboy’s nap selection for Sunday, June 30, is the Robert Cowell-trained Fidelius (1.35) at Wolverhampton. His next best is Cartmel runner Melvich Bay (4.20)
FIDELIUS (1.35, nap) is fancied to make the most of the return to the all-weather to land the Download The Racecourse App Raceday Ready Handicap at Wolverhampton on Sunday.
Harry Angel’s son wasn’t discredited with a fourth to Kiss And Run on turf at Windsor 13 days ago but his form on artificial surfaces – including a novice-stakes success at Chelmsford City on his penultimate outing – shows the Robert Cowell-trained three-year-old in his best light.
At Cartmel, MELVICH BAY (4.20, nb) is taken to land the Old Park Wood Handicap Chase.
The Danny Brooke-trained five-year-old improved on anything she had achieved over hurdles – where she was a long-standing maiden – when running out a good winner of a course and distance handicap chase 32 days ago.
She could well be up to defying a 6lb rise even though this rates a much tougher assignment.
