Newsboy’s nap and racing tips for five Wednesday meetings including Kempton

Newsboy’s nap selection for Wednesday, May 29, is the Charlie Appleby-trained Cavallo Bay (7.42) at Kempton. His next best choice is Cartmel runner Dreal Deal (8.20)

CAVALLO BAY (7.42, nap) has plenty of appeal in the Unibet Interactive Novice Stakes at Kempton on Wednesday.

The colt’s sire is Pinatubo, who was the top-rated European two-year-old of 2019, when unbeaten in six races.

And with Charlie Appleby’s yard making a bright start with its juveniles, he looks the way to go.

DREAL DEAL (8.20, nb) can make it three wins in his last four starts in the Cartmel Annual Members Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at the Cumbrian track.

A cosy winner of a Down Royal beginners’ chase last month, he did not make much impact upped to Listed level at Punchestown but back in calmer waters at Wexford last time, he ran out an eight-length victor.

He has to concede plenty of weight but really does look a cut above.
