New World Aeternum Brings Amazon’s MMO To Xbox And PlayStation In October
New World, the first game published by Amazon’s gaming label, has built a strong and consistent player base on PC since its debut in 2021. Today, during Summer Game Fest Live with Geoff Keighley, Amazon Games announced that the action-RPG will journey to a new world of its own, as New World Aeternum will launch on PlayStation and Xbox on October 15.
New World Aeternum will bring the full New World experience–which includes the Rise Of The Angry Earth expansion that launched last year–to consoles, along with new Aeternum content.
This updated version of New World will include its first-ever “large scale player-versus-player zone,” a new 10-player raid, solo trials added to endgame content, and more. Multiple core systems will also be revamped in Aeternum, including upgraded leveling, an improved dialogue system, and more.
All current PC players who have purchased both New World and the Rise Of The Angry Earth expansion will receive the Aeternum updates for free on launch. Additionally, all players who preorder Aeternum on the console of their choice, or those who log in on PC between now and October 14, will receive a Azoth Stalker mount as well.
New World follows a crew of survivors who appear on a mysterious and supernatural island after being stranded by a shipwreck. It was released in 2021 for PC via Steam, where it reached over 900,000 concurrent players within one week of launch.
New World Aeternum is scheduled to release October 15 for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, and PC.
