The Toronto Raptors defeated the Denver Nuggets 84-81 in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Sunday.

While there were only three ties and four lead changes in this game, neither team led by more than 10 points. That was Denver late in the third quarter, with Toronto riding a 28-20 third quarter to their victory. Toronto led this game 79-71 with 3:30 left, but Denver ripped off a 10-0 run to take an 81-79 lead with 90 seconds remaining. The Raptors responded by scoring the final five points to prevail. Toronto shot 43.5% from the field while holding Denver to 39.1 percent shooting. They also outrebounded Denver, 51-41, while out-blocking them, 11-4.

The Nuggets (0-2) were led by Julian Strawther, finishing with 32 points, three rebounds and five assists despite missing the game-tying shot at the buzzer. Trey Alexander tallied 18 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals. PJ Hall had 14 points, six rebounds and two assists.

The Raptors (2-0) only had one starter reach double figures in scoring, with Ja’Kobe Walker collecting 12 points, five rebounds and three assists. Javon Freeman-Liberty led the bench with 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. Branden Carlson collected five points, seven rebounds and six blocks.
