Mumbai Cricket Association President Amol Kale Dies Of Cardiac Arrest In New York; Was There To Watch India vs Pak – News18
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Amol Kale has passed away due to a cardiac arrest in New York, USA on Monday.
He watched the Indian cricket team in action against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Nassau County Stadium in New York on Sunday with the likes of MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and office-bearer Suraj Samat.
During his tenure, Wankhede successfully hosted World Cup 2023 fixtures, including the semifinal where India faced off against New Zealand. His popcorn initiative was a big hit during the multi-nation event.
The domestic cricket circuit also witnessed massive success under him, as Mumbai clinched the Ranji Trophy in the recently concluded 2023-24 season.
Amol Kale was also in the core committee of the Street Premier League, and he had plans to revive the Mumbai T20 League.
He was also in charge when the MCA took the pathbreaking decision to ensure that the Mumbai players will receive match fees identical to what BCCI gives to its players.
Sankay Naik is currently the vice-president and is likely to take interim charge of the Mumbai Cricket Association.
