ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College men’s basketball head coach, Waleed Farid, has announced the hiring of Mike Sasso as the program’s next assistant coach for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Sasso began his appointment at Ithaca on June 17.
“Throughout the interview process, Mike stood out not only for his basketball acumen but also for his unwavering passion and tireless work ethic,” said Farid. “I am excited to add him to our program and look forward to working together to inspire our players and elevate our program to new heights.”

The Scarlet Knights made back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 2021 and 2022 when Sasso was on staff.
Sasso earned his undergraduate degree in sports management with a minor in business administration from Rutgers in 2020 and received a graduate degree in global sports business in 2022.
A native of Randolph, N.J., Sasso was a team captain on the Randolph High School varsity basketball team and a National Honor Society member.
