Churchill Downs Incorporated announced that Michael Lilly will take over as president of TwinSpires Horse Racing.
Lilly has been with Churchill Downs Incorporated since 2018, working as a senior director of finance at Arlington Racecourse, vice president of finance of the TwinSpires Segment, and vice president of finance and operations of the company for the TwinSpires Segment.
TwinSpires Horse Racing is the online horse racing betting arm of Churchill Downs Incorporated’s operations. It allows players across the U.S. to place pari-mutuel bets on races across the U.S. and the globe. TwinSpires Horse Racing is the official partner of the Kentucky Derby, which set betting handle records in 2024.
Lilly will be tasked with running the overall strategy and operation of TwinSpires Horse Racing within the company’s wider TwinSpires segment. Prior to his tenure at Churchill Downs, Lilly held several senior finance positions in the Chicago metropolitan area.
Lilly is stepping up during a successful period for Churchill Downs Incorporated. The company announced record-setting revenues in Q1.
