Men’s Golf Adds Transfers Robles Delval and Sihota – Eastern Michigan University Athletics

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Head Men’s Golf Coach Andy Walker continues to build his roster for the 2024-25 season with the addition of transfers Daniel Robles Delval (Albacete, Spain/Escuela Nacional Blume/Rogers State) and Bavake Sihota (Caledon, Ontario/Independent Learning Center/Michigan) today, June __.

Robles Delval is an accomplished golfer who joins Eastern Michigan for the 2024-25 season as a transfer from Rogers State University. At RSU, he was a three-time NCAA Regional qualifier and twice earned First Team All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (MIAA) honors. He was named the 2022 MIAA Freshman of the Year and contributed to 10 team titles and one individual event championship. In the 2023-24 season, he played in 11 tournaments, achieving six top 20 finishes and three top 10 finishes, including a runner-up finish at The Tulsa Cup. He tied the school’s single-round record with a -7 (63) at the NCAA Super Regional Preview and earned MIAA academic honors.

“We are very fortunate to add Daniel to our lineup,” mentioned Walker. “He was a very sought-after recruit who brings a lot of experience, the ability to shoot low numbers and some depth to our roster.  I cannot wait to work with Daniel and help him in his last year of college golf as he prepares to play professionally, plus I get to watch Daniel’s unreal golf swing all year. I cannot wait to see those ‘Spanish Seve hands’ in action.”

Sihota is an accomplished golfer who joins Eastern as a transfer from the University of Michigan. At Michigan, he earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2023 and twice received U-M Academic Athletic Achievement awards (2022, 2023). In 2022-23, Sihota played in 14 events with a 77.0 stroke average, recording four sub-par rounds. He had notable performances, including a career-low 54-hole total of 218 at the Island Resort Invitational and a career-low round of 68 at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. In high school, he was highly ranked in junior golf, winning the CJGA Mizuno National Championship twice and achieving top finishes in various prestigious tournaments.

“When you watch and hear the ball coming off of Bavake’s club you know there’s something different,” Walker said. “Bavake is transferring a short distance from the University of Michigan, but I have a feeling he’s going to come a long way in a short amount of time. Getting to add Bavake to this extremely deep squad is a testament to the hard work of our staff at Eastern and GameAbove and our unwavering commitment to create a national contending team. Bavake is having a great summer in competition and is working hard with his swing coach to be ready for the Fall.”

The duo joins Timothy Chan (Hong Kong, China/New Mexico Junior College/VCU), Pietro Fenoglio (Torino, Italy/Liceo Amerigo Vespucci/TCU), and Rory McDonald O’Brien (Shrewsbury, England/Shrewsbury School/South Carolina Aiken), who previously announced their commitment to EMU.
