Men’s basketball find potential point guard of the future in Landon Wright – TMU Athletics & Recreation

The TMU Bold men’s basketball team picked up their first commitment of the 2024 recruitment cycle, signing point guard Landon Wright out of William Academy in Markham.

Wright joins the blue and gold after a high school career which saw him earn a Can-United league all-star selection in 2024. He began playing basketball at a young age, earning a CYBL all-star nod in 2019 and winning Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 prior to his high school career.

“I was looking for a winning program that I could fit well into,” said Wright of his decision to join the Bold. 

A self-described hard-worker on and off the court, Landon will be joining the Business Management program when he arrives on campus in the fall. He has a connection to the Bold athletics community already, having played with Greg Angelekos in high school.

Wright will look to be a contributor in his first year, as the Bold continue to hunt for OUA gold when their season tips off this fall.
