Man sentenced to 4 months in prison for carrying mini replica Master Sword
One day you’re keeping the world safe from Ganon, the next you find yourself arrested and thrown in jail for 4 months.
Anthony Bray has been sentenced to four months in prison after police found him in possession of a 6-inch mini Legend of Zelda Master Sword. The sword’s blade could be unsheathed with the press of a button, and Bray was spotted through CCTV walking down the street with the mini-sword in hand.
Bray apparently approached police officers with the blade, which is when he was promptly arrested for carrying the mini-sword. Bray claims the sword was nothing more than a fidget toy he used to keep his hands busy. Even after explaining the sword’s purpose, the police brought him into their custody. At this point, it’s unclear if the sword was a plastic or metal toy.
Along with serving 4 months in prison, Bray will have to pay a fine of £154. Sgt Spellman of the Patrol Investigations Unit said, “We take a zero tolerance to bladed articles in public, and Bray has fallen afoul of this. It is possible to find fidget toys that aren’t six-inch blades. It is possible not to walk down the street holding them out in front of you. With a bit more self-awareness, Bray could have avoided contact with us completely.”
