Man killed in motorcycle crash in downtown Saskatoon

A 41-year-old man died after a motorcycle crash on Spadina Crescent near the University Bridge underpass on Sunday.

Officers responded to a report of a collision in the 900 block of Spadina Crescent East around 4 p.m., police said in a news release on Monday.

“Upon arrival, officers located the 41-year-old male driver suffering from what were believed to be life-threatening injuries,” the release stated.

He was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said an investigation led them to believe the motorcycle was speeding before losing control and hitting a guardrail and a light standard.

Traffic was restricted around the area of the crash while the initial investigation was underway. They have since been lifted. The police collision analyst unit continues to investigate.
