A man in his 40s died after his vehicle hit a moose on the Trans-Canada Highway Wednesday night.
The collision occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on the TCH through Terra Nova National Park.
RCMP say the victim, who was from Peterview, was taken to hospital in Clarenville where he was pronounced dead.
Gander and Clarenville RCMP, along with Fewer’s Ambulance Service and the Port Blandford Volunteer Fire Department, responded to the call.
Police say evidence at the scene suggests the car hit the moose before going off the highway.
