Luka Doncic shuts down beef rumors with Kristaps Porzingis, calls out Chandler Parsons

Luka Doncic has squashed any rumors of bad blood with former teammate Kristaps Porzingis just in time for their showdown in the NBA Finals. Despite Chandler Parsons‘ claims of a rift between the two, Doncic insists everything is cool.

Earlier this week on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” Parsons stirred the pot by saying Doncic and Porzingis had “actual beef” during their time together on the Dallas Mavericks. Parsons, who played for Dallas before Doncic and Porzingis arrived, suggested that their relationship was far from friendly.

But Doncic was quick to set the record straight during a media session on Tuesday. “That’s why I don’t watch a lot of that – because people don’t know,” he said. “I’ve talked to Chandler Parsons maybe twice in my life, so I don’t know how he would know that. But me and KP have a good relationship. I don’t know why people would say otherwise.

Parsons didn’t hold back in his comments, claiming, “They do not like Porzingis in Dallas. Luka did not like playing with him; there is an actual beef there. Every time he touches the ball, he’s getting booed. It’s known. It didn’t work out.” He even compared it to the infamous Kyrie Irving-Celtics drama.

Porzingis had a bumpy ride in Dallas, especially coming off a torn ACL from his time with the New York Knicks. His stint with the Mavericks ended when he was traded to the Washington Wizards in 2022 for a package centered around Spencer Dinwiddie.

With the NBA Finals looming, fans are buzzing about the potential tension between Doncic and Porzingis. However, Doncic’s recent comments suggest it’s all water under the bridge. Now, all eyes are on the court to see how these former teammates will face off.
