Media credentials open for 53rd playing of event, featuring star-studded LPGA Tour lineup

PORTLAND, Oreg., July 8, 2024 – The longest running non-major event on the LPGA Tour, the Portland Classic will return to Columbia Edgewater Country Club for the 53rd playing of the tournament on August 1-4, just one week before Olympic Women’s Golf begins in Paris.

The preliminary field for this year’s Portland Classic features top LPGA Tour talent, with 2023 U.S. Women’s Open champion Allisen Corpuz headlining the field. Corpuz, a member of the 2023 U.S. Solheim Cup Team, will be looking to play her way onto the 2024 Solheim Cup team while in Portland, as will her fellow LPGA Tour winners and Solheim Cup alumni Cheynne Knight, Lizette Salas and major champion Jennifer Kupcho, among others.

Currently, there are three players in the field from the state of Oregon, including University of Oregon alum Caroline Inglis, who is a member at Columbia Edgewater. Gigi Stoll of Beaverton, OR will be making just her fourth LPGA Tour start of the season at the Portland Classic while Yvonne Yu Qi Vinceri, an amateur from Redmond, OR, will be making her first ever. Vinceri won the Les Schwab Tires Amateur Open in June to earn her place in the field as a sponsor invite.

Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen will be back to defend her title at Columbia Edgewater, where she shattered the course record in 2023 with a -26 score to par and won her inaugural LPGA Tour victory after Monday qualifying for the event. Joining her in August are two more past champions of the event, Andrea Lee and Solheim Cup U.S. Team captain Stacy Lewis.

Meanwhile, other esteemed past champions of the Portland Classic like Brooke Henderson, Hannah Green, Jin Young Ko and Georgia Hall will be preparing to represent their countries in Paris at the Olympic Games. They will be joined by 56 more of the world’s best female golfers when the Olympic Women’s Golf event begins on August 7, the Wednesday after the Portland Classic.
