Louisiana Thoroughbred Champion Awards, REAP Benefit

It’s going to be a big night.

REAP (Racing Employees Assistance Program) is thrilled that the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders have graciously allowed us to hold our annual benefit in conjunction with Horse of the Year and Champions Ceremony on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at Mojo’s at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino. The $100,000 Louisiana Stallion Stakes for 3-year-old mares and fillies and the D.S. Shine Young for 2-year-old fillies run the same day.

Last year we had a very successful fundraiser in conjunction with the LTBA Awards and another with the Louisiana Stallion Stakes sponsored by Coteau Grove Farms. We are looking forward to another fun event.

The mission of REAP is to provide relief to the licensed members of the Evangeline Downs Racing Community and their families. Such relief will include, but not be limited to, financial assistance for medical care, food, housing, clothing, and education, and services, such as counseling, care, emergency transportation, recreational activities, job placement and training. We also support the great work of our chaplain Dwight Brown.

We invite you to participate again this year with us in servicing those in our industry that need our help.
