A Trenton resident says his family did not believe him when he told them he won a $1 million lottery prize.

David Remus won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the April 19, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

The security guard, who has been playing the lottery for nearly three decades, plans to use his winnings to complete some home renovations and add to his savings.

“I was checking some tickets I had purchased over the past couple of months. When I scanned one of the last few tickets, I thought I had won $100,000,” David recalls, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “Turns out, it was actually $1 million!”

The married father of two shared the good news with his family but was met with disbelief. “First, I told my wife, but she didn’t believe me.  Then I told my sons, and they didn’t believe me either.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Front Street Variety in Trenton.
