WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) –

As our summer months roll on, there is something else you need to consider when you are heading out on vacation.


Officials are urging all travelers to be aware of the weather conditions of your destinations. They say it’s important to plan activities according to those conditions.

Recently, several media outlets reported that during an excessive heat wave as many as six tourists have either gone missing or have turned up dead in Greece.

When there is severe weather it’s always it’s always great to kind of plan ahead. So booking travel insurance anywhere that you go can help if there is a hurricane, a tornado, anything that is unplanned on your part. We also totally recommend booking with a travel agent. We kind of keep an eye on the storms as well.

She says you should also make sure you’re traveling with essential items such as reuseable water bottles, hats and sunglasses.
