Bryson DeChambeau continues to lead the LIV Golfers at the 2024 US Open – and the Golfing Scientist is in prime position to win the championship for the second time on Sunday evening.
DeChambeau is seven-under-par after a second round 67 to lead Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Matthieu Pavon by three.
That was despite some hip problems, which led to him having a physio break in the trees mid-round, but he appeared to be moving well and untroubled on the way in.
Tyrrell Hatton is second in the LIV leaderboard and in touching distance after a level-par 70. He is six back of DeChambeau but only three behind second-place.
Sergio Garcia‘s strong showing in his 25th consecutive US Open continues, with the 2017 Masters champion at +1 after a third round 71.
His compatriot and fellow Fireballs GC team member David Puig is two adrift after another excellent round from the young Spaniard. Puig, who is now set to qualify for the Olympics, shot a one-under 69 to go with his two-under 68 on Friday.
Cameron Smith is +5 and now out of Olympics contention, with Brooks Koepka +6, Martin Kaymer +10 and Dean Burmester +11.
A total of eight LIV Golfers made the cut at the 2024 US Open, with four missing the mark and the 2021 winner Jon Rahm withdrawing earlier in the week due to injury.
Six-time US Open runner-up Phil Mickelson, who was 15-over for 36-holes, missed the cut along with Adrian Meronk, 2016 winner Dustin Johnson and Major debutant Eugenio Chacarra.
