Kate Middleton’s parents Carole and Michael attend Wimbledon – as tennis bosses ‘hopeful’ Princess will make appearance
The mother and father of the Princess of Wales, Carole and Michael Middleton, have been pictured arriving to the fourth day of Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Kate’s mum looked stylish at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as she donned a floral dress complemented by a short-cut cream blazer.
Carole, 69, who beamed as she arrived alongside husband Michael, also wore orange sunglasses, teamed with brown suede heels and a round basket clutch bag. Kate’s dad Michael, 74, looked dapper in a navy suit and yellow tie.
Royal fans shared their admiration on social media, praising the “glamorous” and “beautiful” appearance of Kate’s mum. One fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: “The Princess of Wales’s mother, Carole Middleton, attends #Wimbledon day four today. Oh my, the #LionessofMiddleton looks beautiful and Princess Catherine has her mum’s smile.”
Another admirer gushed: “Loving Carole’s outfit and new haircut”, reports the Express.
This isn’t the Middletons’ first recent high-profile outing. Last month, they attended Royal Ascot and joined members of the Royal Family, including son-in-law, Prince William.
It was their first appearance at a major event since it was announced in March that Kate had began a bout of chemotherapy, following abdominal surgery in January.
It is not known if Kate – who is undergoing cancer treatment – will attend Wimbledon this year.
Kate, 42, has been patron of the All England Club since 2016, and has presented trophies to the Wimbledon champions in the past.
Speaking to Telegraph Sport, All England Club chair Debbie Jevans revealed: “We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority. We don’t know what we don’t know. All we’ve said is that we’ll work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible.”
