Joshua Zirkzee’s Man United transfer confirmed as manager announces move
Manchester United are closing in on their first signing of the summer window and could very quickly make a second amid rumours surrounding Joshua Zirkzee, Sofyan Amrabat and Facundo Pellistri
Manchester United have got their summer business well underway.
This off-season represents the first summer transfer window under INEOS’ control and they are already having their say. Erik ten Hag has signed a new deal, while changes are also taking place among his backroom staff.
When it comes to transfers, there are also a number of irons in the fire. The Red Devils want to sign a striker and appear to have found their man in the form of Joshua Zirkzee.
Some of the clubs current stars may have to be sold in an effort to generate future funds. With all of that being said, take a look at the latest transfer rumours coming out of Old Trafford over the past 24 hours
Ibrahimovic confirms Zirkzee deal
Former Man United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to have inadvertently confirmed the Red Devils’ deal for Joshua Zirkzee. The Swede – who holds an advisory role at AC Milan – has confirmed that his side no longer hold an interest in the Bologna forward.
He said: “He’s [Zirkzee] the past. As Paulo [Fonseca] said, we have a player in mind, I won’t say his name. There is somebody, let’s see.”
Milan were linked with a move for Zirkzee alongside the Red Devils. But they appear to have switched focus to Atletico Madrid star and Spain captain Alvaro Morata.
Pellistri talks confirmed
Real Valladolid head coach Paulo Pezzolano has revealed that his side have held internal talks regarding the prospect of signing Man United starlet Facundo Pellistri. “He would be a very important player,” Pezzonalo told radio station Carve Deportivo (via MEN)
“We talked about many names (with the sports management) and one of them, without a doubt, is him. I think it could benefit him a lot to be with us, although there are financial details that can or cannot be given.
“We know that it is not easy for us. I love him, but I have not dared to call him because I want him to give his best with the national team, although I suppose his representative will have sent it to him.
“Arriving at a team like ours in the pre-season, adapting well to the group, knowing that he comes to an intense, dynamic, vertical team when he goes outside… he can show off a lot when stepping into the area.”

Amrabat deadline set
Former Man United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has been told not to return to Fiorentina for the time being. The Moroccan midfielder spent last season on loan at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils had an option to make the move permanent but have not yet done so. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, they have until 21 July to activate their option.
And as a result, Amrabat has been told not to report for pre-season training with Fiorentina until then. It was previously claimed that it was his ‘dream’ to return to Man United.
