Joshua Bode NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles National Tournament – Concordia University Texas Athletics

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – For the second consecutive year, Concordia Texas tennis player Joshua Bode was selected to compete in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles National Tournament. Bode, a graduate senior from Austin, made sure to leave a mark at the tournament as he battled his way to a quarterfinal appearance.

 

In the opening round of 32, the reigning ASC Player of the Year conquered Raghav Jangbahadur (Carnegie Mellon) in a three-set (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) battle. Just a couple of hours later, Bode made another comeback against Jared Perry of Trinity where he faced match point in set two. Bode would then surge ahead in a thriller of a match with a 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 triumph. In the quarterfinal, Bode took on Derek Hseih of the University of Chicago. Bode claimed the first set at 6-4, before Hseih would come back with victories in the final two sets (3-6, 3-6).

Bode caps off the 2024 spring season with a 20-3 singles record. He was also an ITA Cup quarterfinalist last fall, and helped the Tornados win their second-straight American Southwest Conference Tournament championship. 

Bode entered the tournament ranked 25th in the nation, and he will certainly move up the final rankings that will be released within the next few weeks. With his collegiate career coming to a close, Bode leaves the court as the most decorated individual in CTX Tennis history.
