Jon Rahm absolutely furious with LIV Golf
The motto for LIV Golf is “golf but louder” as the Saudi-backed league embraces a more exciting and much more laid-back atmosphere compared to what has been commonly seen on the PGA Tour, complete with some unique camera shots and drones providing extra coverage for fans. But clearly, not everyone appreciates this “golf but louder” approach.
During Sunday afternoon’s LIV Golf event in Nashville, LIV Golf star Jon Rahm expressed his frustration and anger with the drones that LIV Golf uses to provide a unique camera perspective on shots.
After Rahm badly missed his shot, sending it into the water, he looked up at the drone above him and expressed his outrage, and the broadcast picked up his foul-language rant pretty clearly.
“Every tournament,” Rahm could be heard saying during the broadcast. “It’s [freaking] incredible. Right on my backswing. These [freaking] drones every time.”
Rahm joined LIV Golf back in December, becoming the latest high-profile player to leave the PGA Tour to join the Saudi-backed tour. Rahm has not enjoyed nearly the same success ever since joining LIV, and perhaps the drones are to blame.
It’s worth noting that every LIV Golf player has to deal with the same drones, so it’s not like anyone has an unfair advantage.
