Iwobi shines at off-season Paris Fashion Week

Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi immersed himself in the glamour of Paris Fashion Week just weeks before gearing up for Fulham’s pre-season in Germany, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Fulham star, known for his flair, indulged in the latest summer fashion trends while also partaking in exhibition matches and exploring chic Parisian boutiques during his well-deserved break.

Last Wednesday, both Fulham and Iwobi shared a spirited Instagram post featuring Iwobi in the club’s jersey, captioned ‘Reset. Ready.’

Pre-season preparations across Premier League clubs are set to kick off early this month, with rigorous training regimes and friendly fixtures designed to fine-tune team fitness ahead of the 2024/25 season opener scheduled for the weekend of August 16. Crystal Palace notably began their preparations with a closed-door friendly against National League side Sutton United.

Only Fulham’s last match of the pre-season is yet unconfirmed on their official website and on the Premier League website. Fulham will travel to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for a friendly on August 10 as their last pre-season game. It’s the second year in a row they’ve faced the Germans, following their 2-1 win at Craven Cottage last summer, with Iwobi’s compatriot Calvin Bassey getting on the scoresheet.

Last campaign, Iwobi had a great outing in his first season with the Cottagers following his £22m move from Everton. His debut season proved successful following his £22m move from Everton, culminating in his best-scoring league record to date.

The Nigeria international scored five Premier League goals, previously never scoring more than three for Arsenal in a single season, while his best return at Everton was just two goals.

Iwobi also provided two assists, bringing his goal contributions last season to seven in 30 top-flight appearances.
