Ireland added 8,900 foreign multinational jobs in first half of year, down on 2023 – ETHRWorld

DUBLIN : Ireland secured 131 investments from foreign multinationals so far this year that are set to create 8,900 jobs, down from 12,000 a year ago and a record 18,000 added in the same period of 2022, the country’s inward investment agency said. Last year’s outturn had represented a return to pre-pandemic levels, when jobs averaged around 12,000 at the half-year mark. IDA Ireland said it secured this year’s investments “against an increasingly challenging global operating environment.”

When job losses were taken into account at the end of the year, employment at foreign multinational companies fell in 2023 for first time in more than a decade.
