Intel’s Hardware on Full Display at Game Con Canada

Game Con Canada is here, and that means Intel is out in force, showing off some amazing Intel-powered laptops and handhelds and bringing a TEKKEN 8  tournament to the main stage.

Thousands of fans are heading to the Edmonton Expo Center this weekend, all eager to see the latest and greatest in gaming, and Intel is not one to disappoint. With their booth set up right near the entrance to the Razer Gaming Area, fans will have the opportunity to get hands-on time with some Intel gear and have some serious gaming to check out. From the Tournament to the latest 14th gen laptops to showcasing the new MSI Claw, there is a lot to see.

“We’re here [at Game Con Canada] partnered with MSI, showing off tech and hosting a tournament,” explained gaming and partner marketing manager at Intel Canada, Josh Chiavaroli. “But more importantly, we want to show them aside devices like the new MSI Claw as well as what we call our Battle Station, so the big booth that’s behind us here with laptops on it, you’ll see that in about 40 to 50 Best Buys across the country by the end of the year.”

Chivaroli explained what the Battle Stations are used for in these Best Buy locations, “It’s a new way to engage the consumer at the store. Really get them to come into the space…to showcase the latest that our OEM partners have.”

Even on the first day of the con, the booth was one of the most crowded on the show floor, with people coming to see what Intel had to show off. With a range of laptops all showcasing Intel’s latest 13th-gen and 14th-gen chips, fans of all ages were eager to see these new laptops and desktops and to watch the preliminary matches for their TEKKEN 8 tournament.

While we’ve seen a few games, the tournament’s big event is Saturday, June 15, when Intel partners with NorQuest College to host an exciting TEKKEN 8 Esport Tournament, culminating in a grand finale on a massive 100-foot wide by 34-foot high 9K LED wall on the Memory Express Mega Stage.

Contestants will compete for $1,150 worth of gaming peripherals and a prize pool for runners-up. If the games we saw on the show floor today were any indication, this event is shaping up to be a highlight of the convention, showcasing top gaming talent and cutting-edge technology.

As if the exciting Best Buy laptop display area or the TEKKEN 8 tournament were not enough, Intel is also showcasing the new MSI Claw handheld at the booth. Recently released, this new handheld is one of the few to feature Intel’s 14th generation chips and boasts some exciting features, including a powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, stunning display, great design, and long battery life, all in a handheld made to be shown off. It is a showcase of the engineering power of Intel and MSI and will be on display for you to try right at the Intel booth.

If you want even more Intel-powered machines, right next to the Intel booth, they have partnered with MSI, showing the latest monitors, laptops, desktops, and even more MSI Claw units to try out for themselves. MSI’s Project Zero is built and ready to be seen right in the booth, along with even more gaming tournaments

It is great to see Intel going all out to showcase the latest technology to fans in Canada. Game Con Canada may be new, but if the fan excitement is anything to go by, it will be a new staple on the calendar for years to come. With only one day down and two more to go, if you are in the area, it is an event well worth checking out. With the chance to experience all the latest Intel and PC gaming has to offer, it is an exciting place to be in Edmonton, Alberta.

Chivaroli left us with these words, “Come check out our booth in Hall G, next to the big MSI’s and all the Lucky’s. Please partake in our TEKKEN 8 tournament. We hope to see everyone on the grand stage!“
