Indian cricket players honored by Ambani family for T20 World Cup victory

India‘s triumphant return from the T20 World Cup 2024 has sparked nationwide celebrations, as the national team, brought home the coveted trophy. On Friday, following a day of festivities in Delhi and Mumbai, India’s captain Rohit Sharma was further honored by the Ambani family during the Sangeet ceremony for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding.

The Indian skipper, along with Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav, attended the ceremony on Friday, July 5.

In a viral video, the India stars were honored by their Mumbai Indians team owners, Nita Ambani and Akash Ambani. Every visitor stood up and applauded the players.. A sense of patriotism filled the hall as everyone raised their arms to celebrate the success of the Indian team.

Rohit Sharma was instrumental in India’s campaign, finishing as the second-highest run scorer of the tournament. Opening the batting, he provided the team with explosive starts, amassing 257 runs at an impressive average of 36.71 and a strike rate of 156.70, including three half-centuries.

Hardik excelled with both his batting and bowling, amassing 144 runs at a remarkable average of 48 and a blistering strike rate of 151.57 over six innings. He registered one half-century, with his highest individual score of 50* (27) coming against Bangladesh during the Super 8 stage of the tournament.

The right-arm seamer picked up 11 wickets from eight innings, averaging 17.36 with an economy of 7.64. He saved his best bowling performance for the final, taking 3/20 in three overs. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav finished as India’s second-highest run-scorer, amassing 199 runs from eight innings at an average of 28.42 and a strike rate of 135.37, including two half-centuries.
