India vs England Guyana Weather Recent Update: It has started to rain in Guyana and the match has been delayed. The rain has been playing hide and seek for the last few hours. The forecast was for rain before the start of play and it has come true. The covers are on as the players wait for the rain to relent.
As per Accuweather, there is over 50 percent chance of rain before the start of play at 10: 00 AM local time or 7:30 PM IST. The forecast was poor till yesterday with over an 80 percent chance of rain, however, it has got better in the last few hours which has raised the possibility of the full game. Earlier, a 20-over game looked unlikely as there was heavy rain predicted throughout the day, however, currently, the forecast predicts a clear weather after 1:00 PM, with rain chances declining to 20 percent.
The umpires can wait for 7 hours and 20 minutes to get the required 10 overs for a result, however, if the forecast comes true, we could even get a full 20 overs game. The drainage is good in Guyana and play can resume after about 60 minutes of rain stoppage.
There is no reserve day in place for the semifinal thus if the match is washed out, India will qualify for the final. This is because India topped the Super 8 table while England finished second in their respective group. South Africa have already qualified for the final after the nine-wicket win over Afghanistan and if the match is washed out, it will be an India vs South Africa final in Barbados on June 27.
