India Squad Announcement For Sri Lanka Tour: Gautam Gambhir is set to formally assume the role of the head coach of the Indian team as his first assignment is round the corner with the Men in Blue travelling to Sri Lanka to play three T20Is followed by 3 ODIs. This is a transitional time for Indian cricket, especially in T20Is, with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja retiring from the shortest format. On the other hand, the ODI series will officially kick off preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025. However, Gambhir is set to face multiple hiccups during selecting the team, and thre might be some bad news for him regarding Hardik Pandya.

According to a report by IE, Hardik Pandya is set to miss the three match ODI series that will be held from August 2 to August 7. This is because of personal reasons. However, he is expected to lead the T20I squad with the retirement of Rohit Sharma. Suryakumar Yadav is set to be the vice-captain.

Shreyas Iyer is also expected to make his comeback in the ODI series.
