Herkimer Originals competing for the $1 Million Basketball Tournament

HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Herkimer Originals are a professional basketball team affiliated with the American Basketball Association (ABA). Their goal is to bring basketball and community engagement to Herkimer, NY.

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is a very exciting and popular single-elimination tournament featuring 64 teams with a winning prize of $1 million. TBT is an open-application tournament that the Herkimer Originals are delighted to be participating in.

The Herkimer OGs are sponsored by the Norelli Family Foundation and thank them for their compassion towards basketball, the community, and for making their participation in the tournament possible.

The Herkimer Originals are promoting Lambert Will’s candidacy for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025 through the TBT platform. Lambert has been recognized as the inventor of basketball and was inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame. The Herkimer Originals would like to continue commemorating and advocating for Lambert’s candidacy.

The TBT bracket will be announced live at 10AM on Wednesday, June 26. Media and supporters are welcome to join the Herkimer Originals at the Herkimer Diamond Mines from 9 AM to 11 AM.
