Here is the 2024 football schedule for the Big 8

With the 2024 high school football season right around the corner, MLive will take a look at schedules, week-by-week, conference-by-conference, involving teams in and around Jackson. The games begin August 29 with state champions crowned at Ford Field November 29-30.

Today, we take a look at the Big 8.

Stockbridge was left without a conference two years ago when the GLAC dissolved. Teams went their separate ways, but the Panthers waited out their season as an independent and came through it with a chance to start a new era in the Big 8.

The Big 8 also adds Sand Creek, a playoff team a year ago in the Tri-County, and Maple Valley returns to 11-man football from the 8-man ranks, meaning the Big 8 has eight 11-man football-playing members.

Those league debuts will come Week 2, when Sand Creek visits Bronson, Maple Valley hosts Springport and Stockbridge visits defending league champion Union City.

Springport also debuts its new coach as Ben Pack takes over the Spartans. His first game on the Springport sideline will be at Dansville.
